Your alarm goes off. It’s still dark outside. Your bed feels really warm and comfortable. But you know you need to get up to spend time with the Lord. Your heart needs it. Your kids will recognize it. You are a weary homeschooling mom who needs some encouragement and life from the Word.
So…you crawl out of bed and slip into your slippers and robe. As you wipe the sleep from your eyes and stumble out of your room, you try to get yourself awake. Maybe you start a pot of coffee or boil some water for tea. You grab your Bible, journal, and pen and sit down in ‘your spot.’ You know, that same place you go to every morning that feels comfortable…your special chair or that one crook in the couch. Wherever it is, you sink into it and get comfortable. You feel weary.
You Desire Rich Scripture Meditation
As you open your Bible, you are not sure where to turn. You are not currently in an organized Bible study. Lately, you have been going through a book of the Bible verse by verse. You have done some raking and some digging in the Word. Right now, you just want to meditate on a few nuggets of Scripture and let them sink into your heart.
You would love some verses that speak to you as a mom and homeschooler. In fact, you want to be able to pray over your homeschool this year with specific Bible verses.
At the bottom of this post, you will find a free Scripture Calendar that will hopefully be just what you need.
The Burdens of a Weary Homeschooling Mom
As homeschooling moms, we are often busy, tired, and can many times feel burdened. We can be burdened by the roles we juggle, the responsibilities we carry, the needs we see, the heart attitudes that need attention, the truth we want to impart, and so much more.
In some seasons of life, we just long for a map of Scriptures that will speak to our weary hearts.
The Power of Scripture Meditation
I have found that when I take little bits of God’s Word, read over them, journal about them, meditate on them and let them saturate my heart and mind through prayer, I can be transformed. It truly is powerful.
What once felt burdensome, no longer does after meditating on even just one verse! My weary heart once again feels energized.
I am excited to offer my FREE Scripture Calendar available in my Freebies Library to use in your homeschool and family this year. In it, you will find a different Scripture for each day of the month. You can start it any day of any month and continue for the next 30 days.
Read, meditate on, and/or memorize one verse a day or week – whatever works best for you. Feel free to read through each of the verses month after month to solidify them in your heart.
I encourage you to read the verses directly before and after each verse listed. Getting the context of Bible verses is always helpful to gain a true understanding of what is written.
I hope this calendar is a blessing to your weary heart! Please leave a comment if there is something the Lord showed you through these verses.
